Sepang International Circuit

Motorsport enthusiasts will love Sepang International Circuit, home to the Malaysian Formula 1 and other motorsport events.
The grandstand and pits at Sepang International Circuit
Also known as the Sepang F1 Circuit, this purpose built complex is located at Sepang, close to Kuala Lumpur international Airport and about 85km from KL city centre.
It hosts various events including Formula 1 (this year to be held from 28th - 30th March 2014), MotoGP, the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race, Malaysian Super Series, Sepang 1000km Endurance Race and Sepang Drag Battle.
Grandstands at the track side can accommodate 130,000 spectators.
Even when no event is being staged, there are still fun things to do here.
It has the best Go Kart circuit in Malaysia, designed by F1 track designer Hermann Tilke. The track, which is made of the same surface as the F1 circuit, is 1.2km long, 10m wide and has 11 demanding bends.
The go kart track is open daily from 10am to 6pm (night racing is planned in future).
A 10 minute free and easy karting experience in a 200cc kart is enough to complete 7 or 8 laps and costs RM40.
It is better to book in advance to avoid a wasted journey.
Groups of 10 people or more can enjoy race conditions lasting 45 - 60 minutes at a cost of RM150 per person.
The minimum age for go karting is 13 years old.
Riders are required to wear shoes (not flip flops/sandals) and long trousers.

Sepang F1 Circuit also houses the National Automobile Museum. This is a modest sized museum displaying a number of vintage cars such as MG, Alvis, Aston Martin, E-type Jaguar and showcases some Malaysian manufactured brands including the retro-styled Bufori.
Admission to the museum is free.

How to get to Sepang International Circuit

Head towards KLIA (the airport). Once you are in the vicinity of KLIA, there are plenty of signboards pointing the way to the Circuit.
