Kuching is situated at the banks of the Sarawak River on the North-Western part of the island of Borneo. It is the largest city in the entire Borneo and placed in the fourth place for the biggest city in Malaysia. It is also known as the City of Kuching.

Kuching is very attractive. Most tourists go to Sarawak just to explore Kuching. It has many tourist attractions offered to locals as well as visitors. If you want to get up close and understand more about the multi cultures in Kuching, the best thing to do is to go visit the temples and mosques around the city. One of the famous temples in Kuching is the Tua Pek Kong Temple. This temple is the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching and is easily access almost anywhere in Kuching. After a visit to the Chinese temple, you can go to visit the Muslims mosque. There are two main mosques in Kuching, namely the Kuching City mosque and Masjid Jamek. Both mosques are packed with devotees performing prayers expecially on Fridays.
For all of you adventurous people out there, Kuching offer a lot of activities that bring you a step closer to the nature. There are national parks around including Gunung Gading National Park and Kubah National Park. There are more activities that have to be done or else your visit to Kuching is incomplete. They are Longhouse Adventure, Kuching Kayaking, visit to Borneo Highlands, fish feeding and more.
A tour or a travel is never complete if you have not tasted their local delicacies. Thus, remember to have a taste of all the popular Kuching's food. They are Sarawak Laksa, Kolok Mee, Mee Sapi, Manok Pansoh, Nasik Aruk, just to name a few. After filling your stomach, souvenirs are the next thing to get. The best places to have these shoppingexperiences are Sunday Market and Main Bazaar. If you are looking for accommodation, Kuching is not letting you down. The best way to go to Kuching is by flight. To go around in Kuching, you can rent a car, take a bus or hail a taxi. Do take note that the main bus terminal in Kuching is located opposite to the old mosque. However, the best way to sightseeing in Kuching is by bicycles and by foot.

As the name stated, Kuching Waterfront is located in the state capital of Sarawak, Kuching, in East Malaysia. It is situated in Main Bazaar, along the Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman and along the Sarawak River is the south side of Kuching.

A visit to Kuching is incomplete if you have not visit the famous Kuching Waterfront. Kuching Waterfront is too known as the People Place as the locals. There are quite a number of attractions that acts as a magnet towards locals and tourists in every comer of the world. The waterfront is as long as 1km and this is undoubtedly the most happening place you can find in Kuching. Why is it so? Everything you need and you want are to be found along the waterfront includes hotels, restaurants, and shopping places for both souvenirs and clothes, not to mention entertainment. The first thing to be seen in your view along the waterfront is the famous cats' statue. Along the waterfront, there are quite a number of interesting facts that are related to Kuching around. There are a few attractions around including a monument to honor the late Charles Brooke and the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching, Tua Pek Kong Temple. Tua Pek Kong is one of the many famous attractions where tourists stop by to make offerings in respect to different culture and beliefs of the Chinese people.

This lodge offers great services with hospitality. It is a famous hotel among the backpackers. You can shop for souvenirs along Kuching Waterfront. If you are looking for shopping malls, there are three main ones in the city centre of Kuching. They are Parkson Grand, Tun Jugah and Sarawak Plaza. All shopping malls feature various brand outlets from discounted and affordable items to luxurious branding.

Transport

You can reach Kuching Waterfront by hailing a taxi. You can also take public buses to reach the waterfront. There are a few companies which provides such services including Matang Transport Company (MTC) and Petra Jaya Transport, just to name a few. If you are spending the nights in nearby hotel, you can reach the waterfront by foot.

Petroleum Museum Miri

Petroleum Museum Miri is undoubtedly located in Miri, the second largest state in Sarawak, in East Malaysia. It is situated at one of the famous attractions in Miri, Canada Hill, or better known as Bukit Tenaga by the locals.

Overview

Petroleum Museum Miri was opened to public officially in the year of 2005, 20th of May. The museum opens every day except Mondays and every public holiday. It is opened from 9.00am to 4.30pm and the admission fee is free of charge. In the museum, there are various exhibits displayed that shows us the history of the petroleum industry in Sarawak and of course in the whole Malaysia. All displays are related to the petroleum industry including its contributions to the country. What not to miss is the popular Grand Old Lady located just outside of the museum. The Grand Old Lady is the first oil rig discovered and erected in Miri. This is one of the historical monuments in Miri. This famous monument has produced barrels and barrels of oil for a long 62 years from 1910 to the year of 1972. Then, you will see a model named the Nodding Donkey which is used to erect the crude oil. Next you have the site of Time Capsule. There are many exhibits and modals in the museum include a scaled oil platform, tools used back in the days to extract crude oil and definitely, the products made. History and the processes involve the extracting of the crude oil to the process and end products are all written down. On the top of Canada Hill, out of the museum, you can enjoy the fresh air and scenic view of Miri.

Accommodations in Miri have not much difference than other cities. Popular hotels include Mega Hotel, Parkcity Everly Hotel, and Imperial Hotel, just to name a few. All hotels provide good services with affordable rates and prices. When it comes to shop for souvenirs, the best shopping place is Miri Handicraft centre. Besides places for souvenir, there are various mallsin the town including Bintang Mall, Merdeka Mall, Boulevard Mall and etc. All malls are equipped with various brand outlets with food court and restaurants available.

Transport

You can reach Petroleum Museum Miri either by foot or by a taxi ride using the street named Jalan Setia Raja. After SJK North, drive along the road and you will spot it on the right hand side of Jalan Miri - Pujut.
